BEGINNING KNITTING: Learn basics of knitting and complete a hat in this 3-week class.

Materials: 150 yds. worsted weight yarn, 16” circular sz. 8 and sz 8 dp needles.

ADVANCED BEGINNING: Knit a child’s pullover sweater in this class. The sweater is knit in the round with minimal finishing , in your choice of size. Pattern available on line at http//:www.purlsoho.com/_gr/book_corrections/pattern_childsplacketsweater.pdf.

Basic knitting skills required.

EINSTEIN JACKET: Fun for all knitters of all levels! You’ll feel like einstein when you complete this cleverly designed garter stitch jacket. It is knit in bulky yarn to work up quickly.

Materials: The Knitting Experience – Book One by Sally Melville. Appropriate amount of bulky yarn and needles as required by pattern. Class meets every other week

Thursdays: 7– 9 pm, April 24, May 8, 22 and June 5.

 BEADED SCARF: Bead knitting is fun, easy when you start with this elegant beaded scarf.

Materials: 200 yds sportweight yarn, Deanna’s Beaded Scarf Pattern, one pkg Deanna’s Beads and sz 5 needles.

Two-Hour Class: $30

Wednesday: 6:15-8:15 pm, April 30

ITTY BITTY HATS: This 3-week class will focus on 3 different hats from the book of the same name by Susan B. Anderson. You will knit an embellished hat (pumpkin), striped hat (Marley, Cotton Stria Stripe or Stripey Stocking Cap) and a 3-needle bind-off hat hat (olive Your, Dotty or Star). Tassels, pom-poms and i-cord will also be covered.

Materials: Bring to first class a copy of Itty Bitty Hats, yarn and needles to knit Pumpkin Hat.

Three-Week Class: $50

Tuesdays: 6:15-8:15 pm, June 10-24

LACE KNITTING: Not as difficult as it looks! Learn to follow charts while creating a lovely laceweight shawl. Perfect for those cool summer evenings. Class meets every other week

Materials: Heartstrings pattern H35, 550 yards fingering weight yarn and size 6 needles.

Three Week Class: $50

Wednesdays: 6:15-8:15 pm, May 14,28, and June 11

FINISHING: Basic finishing techniques, including 3-needle bind off, mattress stitch, picking up stitches and weaving in ends will taught in this 2-hour workshop.

Homework and Materials: Bring three 6” square swatches with stitches on stitch holders, knitting needles and DP needles for yarn used, tapestry needle and crochet hook.

Two-Hour Class: $25

Tuesday: 6:15-8:15 pm, July 1

KIDS’ KNITTING: For kids 8 and up. this class will cover the basics of knitting plus work on some small, fun projects.

Materials: Bring some medium weight yarn and sz 8 or 9 straight needles.

Three-Week Class: $50

Tuesdays: 6:15-7:45, July 8-22

SOCKS: Learn to knit socks, either on double pointed needles or one long circular needle (magic Loop).

Materials: 450 yds fingering wt. sock yarn, sz 2 DP needles or sz 2 circular needle, 32” or 40” long, and Yankee Knitter pattern #29

Three-Week Class: $50

Wednesdays: 6:15-8:15 pm, July 23, 30 and August 6

INTARSIA: Stars, hearts and other designs using two or more colors will be a snap, once you know the secrets to intarsia.

Materials: Small amount of yarn in 2 or more colors and appropriate needles.

Two-Hour Class: $25

Tuesdays: 6:15-8:15 pm, July 29

CROCHET WORKSHOP: This workshop will provide you with fundamentals of crochet. You will learn the basic stitches and also work on a small project.

Materials: Bring a skein of worsted wt. yarn and size g crochet hook.

Two-week class: $40

Wednesdays: 6:15-8:15 pm, July 9 - 16

Please come to class with all materials purchased beforehand. There will be no refunds or credits for withdrawal from any class.

You may register in person, by phone with your credit card, or by mail with your personal check. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment a complete refund will be made.

Private lessons may be scheduled Tuesday - Friday during shop hours at $25.00 per hour.
